St. Joseph’s Manor
St. Joseph’s Manor opened in November, 2002. It is a 64 bed Long Term Care Facility physically adjoining the Hospital. Individuals must be assessed by the Community Care Access Centre Coordinator and qualify under the Ministry of Health and Long term Care Guidelines to take advantage of the services provided. Accommodations rates are set by the provincial government and are geared to income. Many private insurance companies cover some expenses related to long term care facilities.

Respite Care Service
The Respite Care Service offers private accommodation to those who qualify for up to 90 days a year. This service offers caregivers an opportunity to take a vacation knowing their loved one is in good hands. It also provides for peace of mind in circumstances when the caregiver requires hospitalization and recovery time.
The Respite Care Service offers a fully equipped private room plus meals, 24 hour personal care, laundry and housekeeping services. Clients in for Respite Care have access to daily recreational activities.
Long Term Care Beds
St. Joseph’s Manor’s Long Term Care beds provide a home like environment for individuals whose daily care requirements are too extensive to be met in the community by family and professional caregivers. Your physician continues to provide your medical care.
The Recreation Department provides high quality leisure experiences that meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs of all residents. Therapeutic programs are offered both within the facility and the community by qualified staff.

Visiting hours
Visiting hours are flexible however, after 11a.m. would be appreciated. If visiting extends past 8:30p.m., please inform the nurse of your arrival and departure. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit. Please use proper discretion when visiting residents in their room.
Volunteer Services
St. Joseph’s Manor has an enthusiastic group of volunteers of all ages. They are regarded as an essential part of the Manor’s care team. Families and friends interested in the program are encouraged to contact the Recreation Therapist at (705) 848-1898, Ext. 4169.
